X88 announces the Beta program for version two of Pandora
X88 are now accepting requests from customers to participate in the beta testing of the latest version of their Pandora product, due to begin in March. As well as being able to interactively browse through all enterprise data, non-technical Data Analysts can now filter, group, sum, transform and even create new values within the Pandora environment. Data prototyping, using the real data to develop and validate business rules for data movement, to develop test cases, or to use in new applications, is now a reality. “Most data analysis efforts are hampered by issues with accessing all the data, the format of some data values, and the different levels of information such as customer view versus account view,“ explains Ian Thornton, head of Engineering at X88 and himself a data integration veteran. “With Pandora, data experts can now get results themselves, without delays for a colleague to write a program or use a complicated software tool.” As well as the data prototyping, Pandora now permits what X88 are calling context-free matching. “Just specify any values you want and Pandora will tell you if somewhere in all your enterprise data there is a record containing a combination of the same or similar values. You don’t need to standardise or clean the data, it just works!” says Thornton. Developed for a security-related company, context-free matching strengthens Pandora’s already strong forensic data analysis capabilities. Under the covers, X88 Pandora uses X88’s own value-centric database (also known as CDBMS), Panorama. By automatically indexing and storing every unique value once only, Panorama provides a question friendly environment which is simply able to provide answers faster than any other approach.
